Hello

Christine has deep roots in Centennial, where she’s lived with her husband, Andy, and their sons, Ewan and Callum, for more than two decades. About Christine Sweetland

Family Legacy of Giving Back
Christine moved to Colorado with her parents and sisters in the ‘70s, enjoying summers in southeast Denver riding bikes along the Highline Canal, swimming at Cook Park, and playing tennis at Bible Park. She credits her parents, Carl and Ceil, with instilling their strong work ethic and the importance of volunteering in the community through their church and schools.

Christine continued her parents’ contributions, working alongside neighbors to ensure her community’s vitality, safety, and growth – whether organizing Cricket matches or serving as board president for the neighborhood improvement association. She’s raised awareness, interest, and funds, including celebrated home tours, Sandburg Elementary School field day events, Newton Middle School Run with the Knights, and the Arapahoe High School Warrior Invitational Soccer Tournament.

In addition to serving on Centennial City Council, where she’s been a member of the Centennial Housing Working Group, Centennial Audit and Budget Committees and several other committees.  Christine has served as a board member for the Littleton Public Schools Foundation and Southeast Metro Stormwater. She currently serves on the Partner’s in Philanthropy Committee of the South Metro Denver Chamber of Commerce and was previously a Chamber board member.

Entrepreneurial Spirit and Business Experience
Christine’s professional career began in the telecommunications industry at Cellular One (later purchased by AT&T Wireless), where she enjoyed working at the fast pace of a start-up. She moved to teleconferencing company ConferTech and later became a product manager for Qwest Communications.

She changed career tracks to become a Certified Residential Appraiser and opened her own business, 5280 Appraisal, LLC. For more than 15 years, Christine has been well respected in the metro Denver area for her customer service and for providing a high-quality product, with much of her business based on referrals.

A Community Home Throughout Life’s Seasons
In 2001, Christine and Andy bought their first home in Centennial, which reminded them of the neighborhoods where they both had grown up. Sons Ewan and Callum attended Littleton Public Schools, and Ewan, a University of Kansas graduate, now works for Long Building Technologies and shares his love of soccer by coaching for Colorado United part time. Callum is an accounting major at the University of Denver Daniels School of Business. He spent his fall semester studying abroad in London and has worked for South Suburban’s Littleton Golf Course for several years.

In addition to Andy’s accounting career, he has been a part-time soccer coach with Littleton Soccer/Colorado United and in 2020 won Recreational Coach of the Year from the Colorado Soccer Association. In 2022, he became Colorado United’s Chief Financial Officer and continues to coach.

In 2021, Christine faced a personal challenge when she was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer, shortly after her sister and Andy’s parents had passed away. During nine months of treatment that included surgery, chemotherapy, and radiation, she was grateful to have loving support from family and friends and is happy to be cancer-free – acting as a resource to others going through the unexpected diagnosis of breast cancer.
Christine’s close friends and colleagues admired her incredible strength, energy, and courage as she continued working for her community throughout the personal challenges she conquered.

in her spare time, Christine loves hiking and walks with family and Billy, their dog, in Centennial’s great spaces, as well as reading and spending time with friends.  She is a dedicated Denver Broncos fan who loves attending local sporting events and live concerts.
